Pennington Speed Equipment incorporated in 1969 and has been supplying World Class short track racing equipment globally for more than 40 years. Denis Pennington was the originator of many of the designs now used in short track speed skating today and now offers a new and exciting range of short and long track equipment.

Denis Pennington’s career as a short track ice racer includes Australian Champion, Silver medialist ISU Short Track World Championships, and 4 time Gold medalist in North American championshipsand continued his racing career up to 2004. Since then he has concentrated on design and development of his products by research and testing to ensures skaters can be informed of the latest technological advance.

Pennington Blades was the first to pioneer the single cavity aluminium tube incorporating bracket mounts in 1986 after recognizing that the steel tube would not be strong enough.

1991 - Denis Pennington revolutionized short track blades as we know them today by creating an off centre alloy single piece tube and has continued to develop and design a range of equipment that is unsurpassed worldwide.

1992 - Pennington Blades created and introduced a pre curved bi-metal blade where the hard section of the blades was formed to imitate the rocker.

1995  - Pennington was the first to introduce a blades that was pre bent during manufacture whereby eliminating the stress on the blade.

2004 - Pennington introduced the double offset extrusion whereby, not only was the blade offset to the tube but the bracket mount as well, allowing the centre line of the bracket to be directly in line with the centre of the blade.

2010/2011 - Pennington Speed Equipment is proud to announce the next generation of ice racing products and has expanded to include a new and comprehensive range of short track and long track equipment. Boots, blades and accessories that will enhance and develop the career of short track and long track skaters for many years to come.
