With the advantages of Denis Pennington's expertise both as competitor and manufacturer Pennington Speed Equipment has been able to meet the demands for faster and more streamlined equipment. Denis’s dedication to short track racing secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals from the start of his racing career in Australia, England and North America and continued his racing career up to 2004 where he was awarded a silver medal in his class at the North American championships. Since then he has concentrated on design and development of his products.
With this first hand knowledge, Denis’s goal was to produce a definitive short track blade and he succeeded in 1991 when he revolutionized short track blades as we know them today and has continued to develop and design a range of equipment that is unsurpassed worldwide. Every component that makes up the Pennington racing equipment is of world class standard, custom made and assembled by qualified engineering staff.
Denis is the originator of short track ice racing equipment that is used today. Pennington Blades was the first to pioneer the single piece aluminum tube incorporating brackets mounts in 1986 after recognizing that the steel tube was not strong enough. In 1992 Pennington Blades created and introduced a pre curved bi-metal blade where the hard section of the blades was formed to follow the rocker. As a custom manufacturer the Pennington blade range includes different materials to satisfy the varying requirements of their customers and also offers custom grinding on blades to specific thickness as an optional extra.
Research and development is an integral part of Pennington Speed Equipment and we are committed to offer the skater every opportunity to enhance their racing performance. We produce a comprehensive range of accessories,
sharpening frames Titan and Blackhawk and bending equipment, Precision Blade Bender and the RF11 Universal Roll Form Bender. The blade range starts with the Kodiak designed for the entry level and recreational skater, the Avenger for intermediate to advanced intermediate skater and the elite series Excalibur, Katana, Extreme and more recently our latest release developed in late 2007 the Sprinter.
