The unique properties of this blade allow a higher ice clearance with its reinforced blade to tube offset. A special cryogenic treatment gives this blade its exceptional glide quantities. The advanced technologies in the blade design allows for controlled bending where you need it. Split angle cups and blade mount area for unrestricted bending along the full length of the blade. The Katana blade is recognised by today’s champions as a high performance blade that can be relied on to deliver when optimum force is called on.

Katana Parabolic Competition Blade
A parabolic blade is one that is thicker at the front and rear, and thinner in the center. The blade is evenly ground from one end to the other without any steps along the way. As the leading edge of the blade is thicker it is more stable. The advantage of parabolic blades are that it provides the best of both worlds. As the blade at the front and rear is thicker, it is also stronger with less flex, to drive through the rough ice and keep your blade on track, The center section of the blade being thinner and lighter, is more flexible and will lay on the ice and give you maximum grip.
The Comp model has the blade fitted at a -1 degree angle from vertical. What this means is that the slot in the tube has been specially cut at -1 degree angle in the tube. As you lean your blade on the bends to full power, the blade will be 1 degree more vertical than any standard blade. This can be the difference between holding on and losing it on the bend.
Pennington, maker of the world fastest short track blades (ISU March 2006) is the only blade maker to offer these special blade options.
